Where is Mole Hall?

The MRA Annual General Meetings are held in Mole Hall. The address is 2, Bishop Fox Way, West Molesey. There is ample free parking directly outside the hall. For a map click here.

Who does what? Elmbridge or Surrey?

A commonly asked question. There is a page on this website which provides a full answer.

Elmbridge Dog Warden & Dog Fouling

Elmbridge Borough Council do not currently employ a dog warden. The MRA are often asked what is the official position about dog fouling. The answer is that if a dog makes a mess on a road or footpath, recreation ground or public area, the mess must be cleared up.

It is an offence, under the Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996, for an owner not to clear up after allowing their dog to foul in undesignated areas such as a public footpath. The maximum fine for failing to clear up after a dog is £1000.

For issues concerning Dogs such as Strays and Fouling contact the councils Environmental Care Division. Contact details are on the Elmbridge Borough Council website, www.elmbridge.gov.uk.

How do I get in contact with someone I used to know in Molesey?

The MRA cannot use council archives due to the Data Protection Act to find the whereabouts of people who used to live in Molesey. We suggest that people use the resources available on the Internet, at libraries and at other sources of archives and records.

We're having a party, can you add it to the website?

Some particular events/parties will be added to the website. Examples are MRA and HPRA activities, council run activities in Molesey and then other activities which may be of interest to Molesey residents.

Can I advertise on your website?

No, not at present. Having advertising on the website has been considered and currently we have no plan to carry it.

Schools in Molesey

A list of schools in Molesey can be found on the Surrey County Council website.
Surrey Schools database (use location then East or West Molesey)

Vehicular Traffic in Molesey

Elmbridge Borough Council used to have certain delegated Highways powers from Surrey County Council, those powers have been completely taken back into Surrey's control. The end result of this is that control of these sorts of problems is no longer available to the Association via Elmbridge Council. When the association have tried to make any representations to Surrey County Council, it is made quite obvious that they don't wish to have communication with us - even with projects which were started resulting from our influence at Elmbridge Council.

Traffic matters can be raised with one or both of the County Councillors representing Molesey on Surrey County Council.

Where Can I find the latest Information about the MRA

The latest information concerning the MRA can be found via various sources:
- The MRA website - this site.
- The MRA newsletter which is delivered to every house in Molesey and is also available on this site. See here.
- The MRA Annual General Meeting, which is held every year usually in March.

What is PDF and why do the MRA use it ?

Documents on the MRA website are held in a format called PDF (Portable Document Format ). These documents can be viewed by anyone who has Adobe PDF Reader installed on their Computer. To download the software, click here. The MRA use PDF for two main reasons. Firstly, the document will appear the same on everyone's computer unlike Microsoft Word where people may have different versions which may display the document in a different way. Secondly, PDF documents tend to be small files to download. Therefore the time to get the document will be minimised.
