EDMUNDS COURT & CARDEN COURT, AVERN ROAD
Good News for residents of Edmunds Court & Carden Court. Residents have been concerned about the excessive number and size of certain rather spiky trees shading their houses and dropping material on their cars. MRA Councillors Mike Axton and Nigel Cooper pressed Surrey Highways for action some long time ago. Eventually Surrey found some funds and agreed to kill off the offending trees, whilst keeping the more attractive and less instrusive copper coloured leaf trees which are also present.
Since the trees have died and become ready for felling, all has been quiet. Now Mike, Nigel & Ernest Mallett have chased up the situation and the promised order for felling has been issued. Currently the contractor is a bit over-pressed dealing with Surrey trees which blew over in the recent storm, but once this work is complete, he will be legging it to Avern Road and there will be sustained action until the problem is solved. The residents will then get light in their rooms in the Summer and their cars will be free from damage of falling spiky branches
