HIGHWAY SAFETY CHANGES AT CHURCH, WOLSEY & VINE ROADS

As residents will have seen, there are highway works underway in Church Road near St Lawerence school.

Notices put up by Surrey County Council (SCC) say that there will be highway works and road closures affecting all the above roads for 3 weeks from April 4^th. The notices indicate that road closures will not take place at weekends,but otherwise parts of the roads listed will be closed on work days.

The works are described as ‘Safety Improvements’. These are connected to St.Lawrence school and have been, we understand, jointly initiated by the school & County Cllr.Steve Bax & Dominic Raab..

The only specific technical information which has been issued to us, is the possibility that the crossroads end of Vine Road may be barricaded to traffic and closed off for a trial period. The barricade will be done by ‘Planters’, which can be removed following the trial period if local residents dislike the road being shut off.
