Pavilion Sports & Fitness Club – Latest Developments

On 10 January 2012 a Planning Inspector rejected an appeal by the developers, and upheld Elmbridge Council’s decision to refuse planning permission for a development of 63 houses and 13 flats on the open land on the site of the Pavilion Sports and Fitness Club in Hurst Lane.  This was good news for the local residents and MRA Councillors who had worked so hard to present sound arguments against the development.

 

Unfortunately, following an application by the developers, the High Court has overturned the decision of the Planning Inspector, and the appeal will now be determined afresh at a Public Local Enquiry.  Any comments made at the application stage, or in respect of the appeal, will be carried forward, and taken into account when the appeal is considered again.  MRA will continue to strongly oppose this inappropriate over-development.
