Streets Ahead project brings warmth to your community!
Action Surrey on behalf of Elmbridge Borough Council, has secured government funding(1) to help residents living in properties built without cavity walls, to improve the insulation of their homes through a project called Streets Ahead.
Streets Ahead is providing homeowners and private tenants/landlords £3,500 towards the cost of improving the energy efficiency of houses by installing internal or external solid wall insulation. Occupants of solid wall properties will benefit from a warmer home as well as a reduction in their heating costs by up to £460 per year(2). Although the Streets Ahead project will target specific streets with a concentration of solid wall homes, it is available to anyone living in a solid wall property across Surrey and is guaranteed for 625 households on a first come first served basis.
This project is managed by Action Surrey (a subsidiary of Thameswey Sustainable Communities Ltd. and wholly owned by Woking Borough Council) who also provides Impartial Energy Efficiency Advice for residents living within the Elmbridge Borough and across the other Surrey local authorities.
