Update regarding Jolly boatman site
Some time ago Historic Royal Palaces offered to upgrade the derelict Jolly Boatman site by Hampton Court Station at its own expense, and in time for the Olympic cycling events, but they needed permission from the site owners, Gladedale. This offer was enthusiastically supported by the Molesey Residents Association, the Hampton Court Rescue Campaign, and local MP Dominic Raab. After a long delay Gladedale has now agreed to work in partnership with Historic Royal Palaces to improve the appearance of the site in readiness for the Olympics. Works will include the laying of turf, importing trees and plants and erecting a low level perimeter fence. The fact that action is at last being taken to improve the appearance of this site is good news both for local residents, and all those who will be visiting Hampton Court this Summer to see both the Palace, and the Olympic cycling events.
